Here we are.
For many years I’ve had a website that I love, but it can be difficult to capture everything I want to write about or talk about on a static platform. What I enjoy the most about Instagram is my communication with all of you directly. It feels more real. There’s no bullshit. I can have a thought that pops into my brain and share it right away.
Substack has a similar vibe to IG when you consider the chat and comment features that allow me to not only talk to you, but for all of you to talk with one another. That’s what I’ve been really craving: a space to build a community of people instead of me talking into the void of my phone camera. I want everyone to be a part of a conversation and this is something that has been at the top of my mind especially since becoming a mother.
In 2005 when I moved to New York I had a blog called Fighting the War Against Blowing It. It was truly the start of my career. I overshared and wrote my brains out and posted photos I took on a point and shoot. I spent all of my waitressing tips on getting my film developed at Luster. So this is truly a full circle moment. I want an outlet to share the stories I’ve already been sharing on my website — links to what I’m wearing and LPA drops and Elton John Oscars party recaps and vintage hauls and all that other fun shit — but also about the topics you’re asking about that are maybe a little more personal. Substack feels safe for some reason.
So, that leads me… here. Welcome to my Substack! Excited to see where it takes us.

I am so happy you’re here. I used to be on instagram and followed you there but I left that app a few years back and missed seeing all your posts!
I’m so excited to see all your recos plus read more about your parenting life. My husband and I are both neurodivergent and want to try having a baby later this year but also want to prepare as much as possible because the chances our children will be neurodivergent are high! 💕
